Spirit_of_1776 asked:
I will be traveling to China this week for a vacation and I would like to know, from anyone who has been to China for a vacation what is to be expected at Chinese customs? Are the customs agents very strict or is it relatively easy to pass through? Please, serious answers only. I don’t have the time or patience for irrelevant answers.
Anyone who is rude to myself or others posting answers will be reported. If you can’t be helpful or at least courtious, then don’t post an answer to my question. Thank you.

Chinese are always welcome friends from all over the world.
Don’t worry about custom cos they know you are foreign.Do what they tell you to do,that’s right!
I am in China.China is a very good country for traveling.
If you come to Chongqing,I can do you a favor.
dress smartly – I know one guy was not allowed in because of his hippy clothing and out he goes by the nest flight!
answer in straight forward if any questions is being put to you – say sorry I don’t know how to answer this question if you really do not know or understand the question asked
I went to China last year with school and the customs process was pretty easy. Fill out the card, show them your passport, get a stamp, and go on your way.
Keep it mind, if you are doing any inter-China flying or on the way home even, that they are very thorough when checking your bags. They’ll open unopened cans of soda, make you unwrap any presents you have gift wrapped things like that.
Good luck, I had a lot of fun.
I thought it was a bit intimidating. Maybe because I was alone blonde 21yr old. But the rest of the answers are right. Just fill out the card and give them your stuff. They didn’t say anything to me just smiled. Maybe because I might have looked scared! have fun!
As long as you don’t bring anything forbidden into China you won’t have problems, as in every country.
I came into China several times and was never controlled, so don’t worry
